Tools

Vergen Inc. has provided many tools, developed in-house, to assist our customers with many day-to-day activities. The following tools can be accessed from the menu above:

DNS Lookup - A utility to determine where a domain is hosted (server name or IP address)

Traceroute - This tool checks how many 'hops' it takes for a computer to contact another computer. A 'hop' is a transfer through other computers on a network before it reaches the destination address.

Who Is - A search tool that provides you with information about the domain name, where it's registered, and what server it's on.

Ping - Use this utility to verify that a particular IP address exists and can accept requests. Ping can also be used to determine how long it takes to get a response back.

A Glossary of Networking and Telecommunications terms, and Technical White papers can also be found in this section.
